PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Product Description

The Leica Transmitter Clamp 100mm (4") is an inductive signal clamp designed for tracing buried conductive utilities — including live power cables, metallic pipes, and conduit — without requiring a direct electrical connection. Simply clamp it around the target cable or pipe above ground, connect to the DA175 Signal Transmitter, and the locator can follow the induced 33kHz signal underground. Ideal for situations where direct connection is not possible or unsafe, such as live cable tracing, sealed conduit, or inaccessible junction boxes.

Key Features

No Direct Connection Required

Inductive coupling applies the traceable signal through the clamp jaw — no need to expose, splice, or interrupt the cable or pipe. Safer and faster on live systems.

100mm (4") Jaw Opening

Accommodates standard cable bundles, conduit, and metallic pipes up to 4" diameter. Wide enough for most residential and commercial utility work.

33kHz Single Frequency

Standard utility avoidance frequency — compatible with all DD-series locators. Provides strong signal transmission for reliable underground tracing.

Live Cable Tracing

Safely traces in-service power cables without shutting off the circuit. Designed for use on live electrical utilities with the DA175 transmitter.

Lightweight & Portable

Compact inductive clamp that stows easily in a utility bag. Fast to set up — clamp, connect, locate.

EZiTEX Compatible

In addition to the DA175, works with EZiTEX signal transmitters for broader compatibility across utility locating systems.

How It Works

Inductive clamping is the preferred method when direct access to a cable or pipe is not available:

  1. Open the clamp jaw and position it around the target cable, pipe, or conduit above ground at an accessible access point.
  2. Connect the clamp to the signal output of the DA175 Signal Transmitter (or EZiTEX).
  3. Energize — the transmitter induces a 33kHz electromagnetic signal onto the utility through the clamp.
  4. Locate — walk the surface with a DD120 or DD130 locator to track the signal along the cable/pipe route.
  5. Map and mark the underground path for safe digging or repair work.
